Connection help
Connect Discover to Silvia
Follow these steps to find your Discover account in Silvia, authorize a connection, and resolve common setup issues.
Before You Start
Have your Discover login and access to your usual verification method ready. Check that you can sign in directly with your institution before starting.
- Choose the Discover entry that matches the card or bank account you want to connect, and confirm that the login matches the website you currently use.
- Discover and Capital One are combining their account experiences. Follow the current instructions for your specific account; some Discover cards can now be managed through Capital One.
Connect Your Account
Open Your Portfolio in Silvia
Sign in and open Assets & Liabilities (or My Portfolio). Select Banks & Brokerages under Add an Asset. If your page has an Add button, choose Add asset first. On mobile, the + button opens the add options.
Find the Right Discover Listing
Search for Discover in the Add Account window. Choose the listing that matches your institution and account type. Banking, credit card, brokerage, and workplace accounts may use different listings.
Follow the Connection Prompts
Silvia opens the connection provider for the listing you selected. Follow the sign-in instructions and complete any verification requested by Discover. You may be redirected to your institution to authorize access.
Review Access & Select Your Accounts
Review the requested data access, select the accounts you want to share when prompted, and complete the authorization. Available accounts and data depend on your institution and connection provider.
Return to Silvia
Finish the connection flow and return to your portfolio. Allow time for the initial sync, then check that your selected accounts appear. Balances, holdings, and transactions may arrive at different times where available.
If You Have Trouble Connecting
- If Discover has directed you to manage your account through Capital One, look for the matching Capital One connection in Silvia. Use the account’s current login rather than assuming its old Discover credentials still apply.
- If you still manage the account at Discover, confirm you can sign in there before retrying. For uncertainty about a card’s login destination, use the number on the back of the card; for connection errors in Silvia, contact Silvia support.
Ready to Connect?
Open your portfolio, then follow the steps above to search for Discover. You may be asked to sign in first.
